We entered 2021 anticipating a “next normal.” We’ve experienced several iterations throughout the year, bringing us closer together through some in-person events and ongoing hybrid programs.
On behalf of the AIAA staff, we are so grateful for our community persevering through these changes to advance our profession and our industry. It’s been a challenging and exciting year and we’re thankful to have spent time with you on topics we need to learn more about, problems we need to solve, and ideas that have inspired us.
December gave us the chance to visit in person with many sections, volunteer leaders, students, and corporate members in Alabama, Texas, and Washington. We met with the North Texas Section, which covers the Houston and Fort Worth area.
Additionally, we attended the Greater Huntsville Section’s Networking and Member Recognition Dinner, where I had the honor to help recognize local 2020 and 2021 AIAA Associate Fellows and the recipient of the 2020 AIAA Foundation Educator Achievement Award.
As we turn the calendar to next year, we are looking forward to welcoming many of you to the 2022 AIAA SciTech Forum in person in San Diego. Whether you are traveling to San Diego to benefit from the personal interactions on-site or logging in for the virtual programming, this year’s event will be unlike any before. There’s still time to register for in-person or online attendance. See you at the AIAA SciTech Forum!
